Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! I just wanted to share something. I laughed 2 times this weekend. I mean really laughed so hard I was in tears! Boy, did that ever feel good. It wasn't something that funny either, just struck my funnybone. I think this therapy is helping me get in touch my my feelings. My last session a week ago had brought me to a few tears. I think that since I have been so numb for so long, I forgot how to feel. Now if I can work on this fatigue!

Hey good for you. I bet that felt great. After a few months of therapy I started getting the giggles more often. NOT nervous laughter as that can be very annoying but real laughter that struck my funny bone. I feel great when I laugh and that is why I insist on watching comediees frequently. Comedies will help with depression symptoms.

Hangtenvetter-
Well, we were playing Pictionary and one of the words just got to me! Also we did a lot of hiking in the Grand Tetons and there was a path that had a bunch of horse poop on it. That was a subject for the kids to make a lot of poopy jokes! I guess the simple things sometimes are the funniest! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif

I am with you on the comedies. I really try to only watch those and also substance movies, no violence, that gets me nervous!

Just reading these posts makes me wanna start laughing. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif
I know what you mean by feeling "numb"; I feel like my emotions are dulled.
I'm on medication now and a couple of nights ago I started laughing like a BAFOON at something my sister said- I know it has to be the meds! It was'nt even that funny. I was just giddy and could'nt stop- hahaha!!! Sense of humor is so important to me, and I can't wait to get it back... the way it used to be.
Glad you laughed! Let yourself laugh some more!

Poopy jokes. Hee Hee.
My daughter and I were talking about our favorite fruits. She said she loved watermelon. But then she said it gives me and momma gas. I laughed, "We should call it a toot-melon." She cracked.

so glad you laughed this w/e -- and aren't poopy-jokes just the funniest!
i'm beginning to laugh too, but i have to be careful -- animal shows just make me bawl my head off, because i think how cute they are, and then what might happen to them (i know -- DUMB -- but that's how it is) ...
anyone seen 'legally blonde 2'? i just love that reese w/spoon ...

Had my counseling session today and it went pretty well. She was impressed when I told her I had my laughing fit this weekend. She said that was very good progress. I felt good walking out of her office today. I had a great afternoon being silly at work. Boy, I think I am going to recover from this all. I want to feel all emotions, especially good ones! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif Have a great evening all.

Hey there Bellajoon! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Glad to hear that your counseling is going well! I'm doing pretty good myself. (at least today, haha) I don't think that the Wellbutrin is working as well for me as the Lexapro, the last two weeks have been a little rough, but I think part of that is that I haven't been exercising to get some natural mood enhancement.
I did start taking voice lessons, though about a month ago... I'm starting to get back into the things that I once enjoyed... so that's big progress for me! Speaking of laughing, my voice teacher and I started laughing over something really silly... we were working on sight reading and I was trying to do these intervals that went Rum - tum - tum and I was having the hardest time with it! So she says, "Um is a hard one, so for the mean time just use 'dum'"... so I started singing "Dum, dum, dum -dum" and then I started laughing... and she started laughing too. There was another time when I was doing lip trill exercises in the mirror and I kept rolling my eyes... she kept laughing at me! She says, "You have such a beautiful sound coming out of your mouth, but you are making the weirdest faces!!"
Ahh, happy days. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I will need all that I can get, because my grandmom is in the hospital right now. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
I really wish that we could share personal information, because I just made my own webpage and I would love to share it with you all. Oh well. I could give you a hint and tell you that it's on tripod, but that wouldn't do any good, because my username/listing is different! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/mad.gif I'm going to keep adding sections to it until it is gigantic! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I want to add a humor section, all the silly emails and forwards I get, etc... I get some good ones! Then I'm probably going to have an inspirational page, with quotes and stuff. Right now I have a pretty good representation of my interests on there, but I have a lot of photos that need to be put up!
Be good, I hope you all are doing well! Must get back to work!

Lauren,
I was just thinking about you today. I was going to post something to you. Glad to hear you are doing well. Isn't it fun to giggle and laugh? It doesn't come very often, but want it to happen more often. My counselor told me that she wants me to do 1 thing next week. It can be anything spontaneous that I wouldn't ordinarily do. I am having a hard time thinking what it will be. Any ideas? I am having a full body massage next week though, but that was at her request also. My neck, shoulder, and back have really been bothering me. I bought a bed buddy today and put it on here at work. It felt so good when I heated it up in the microwave. I think I will do it again now since I am starting to feel crappy.
I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she will be ok, what is wrong with her?
Have a good weekend okay? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif

Bellajoon, you are so silly! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Don't you know that being spontaneous means to NOT think about something before doing it? LOL... the whole idea of it is to not ponder what you're going to do. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif Maybe have a few different ideas of what might be fun, and then on the spur of the moment, do it!
BTW I'm going to Atlantic City to see Chris Isaak next weekend -- I am so excited!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
On my grandmother, though... she is not doing well at all. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Her cancer has spread to her liver... the doctors were giving her 3 weeks or less... but my aunt called me this morning and told me that she has 'taken a turn for the worse'. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif My cousin and aunt will be coming in from Idaho at the end of this week, so I'm hoping that they will get to see her. *sigh* I love(d) all of my grandparents, but she was the one who really spoiled me... when I was a toddler, she used to send me poems each week, and I still have them all in a big binder at my dad's house. She is such a sweet woman... of course, my father has to find a fault with everyone, and he says that she has borderline personality disorder, and it was hell growing up with her. I wish that for just once he could be positive about something. I think that's been very damaging to me, because I find myself constantly criticizing, myself and others as well. It makes me a miserable person. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
Luckily I have therapy tomorrow, and I am DEFINITELY not going to wear mascara! I'm going to visit my grandmom tomorrow, too.

Lauren,
You know you are right about spontaneity. It is something that just comes to you, but I have a hard time with that. I am not a very relaxed person and have to think things through. Hopefully something will just click and I will do it!
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is so sad to see someone you love go through such pain. Wasn't very nice of your father being so insensitive. :frown:
What part of Idaho does your Mom live? I think I remember you saying Boise before, but my memory has been failing me. She is only about 235 miles from where I live. What a small world!
I am so tired today. I feel just wiped out and I didn't do anything this weekend! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tired.gif
My neck/shoulder/back has been bothering me this weekend. I woke up yesterday at 4 am with neck pain! ugh! I can't wait for my massage!
Have a good session today, I'll be thinking about you.

This is weird, the topic on the main page says that the last post was from yesterday, but I don't see any post after mine. :/
Not to bring down the tone of the thread, but my grandmother passed away yesterday. :`(
Bellajoon, did you pick up on my website hint? It's the username first and then the place posted...com
DOH! After I posted I saw your post... healthboards must be whacked out today or something. My mom doesn't live in Idaho, it's my aunt and cousin (well, uncle, too, but he's not a blood relative)... they are coming in on Friday as planned. I feel bad that they didn't get to see my grandmother before she passed away.
Well, I'd better get back to work... talk to you later

Lauren,
Sorry about your grandmother. She is in a beautiful place now.
I am kind of dingy when it comes to web pages and all. Hopefully I can figure it out.
I am so tired and achy today. My legs and feet hurt like crazy.
How was your session yesterday? Tommorrow I go for a 90 minute massage. Ahhhhhh!
Have a great day! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif

Hmm...
let's see if they leave this up here... it's on tripod and my username is loveshoe. There's no www address in front of it, just the name, then the tripod, then com.
I'm not sure if my grandmother is in a 'beautiful place' but at least she is no longer in pain. I met with my aunt and dad today for lunch... it was a really nice gathering. They joked a lot about my grandmother... my dad was actually bringing Mary (my aunt) my granddad's ashes... it was so weird, it was just in this white cardboard box, and the funeral home had them in a shopping bag type deal with handles. It was really kind of creepy. So to make a long story short, we are burying my grandfather with my grandmother, but he is going to be at her feet. They got a real chuckle out of that one... I guess that there can be humor even in death. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tongue.gif (my grandmother was always upstaging my poor grandfather, he couldn't even talk on the phone without going through her) She was a wonderful woman, though.
Well, I must get back to work... talk to you later.

What is tripod? I found a music site but couldn't figure it out.
That was an interesting burial! At the feet? I guess there is humor in everything!
I went to the muscle massage yesterday and it was quite painful. She did a muscle tissue massage which feels like pinching. Ouch! A few times I thought I was going to throw up! I really want to get this problem fixed, but seems nothing is helping! I feel that my therapy is helping my head, but this other stuff is crap! I am so tired too, I just want to go home and sleep!
Hope you are having a better day than me.

Hi there! I'm sorry you aren't feeling well!
I'll give you another hint.... loveshoe is the nickname. Then tripod is the hosting service then its just the dot com! It goes in that order, just type the whole thing into the address when you try to open a webpage. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif (Go to file, then Open, then type loveshoe dot tripod dot com!)
The funeral was on Saturday which was also the day that my boyfriend and I went to Atlantic City to see Chris Isaak... I am in love! I got to meet him after the show and he is the sweetest, most down to earth person I have ever met. Hopefully I'll get to talk to him again this thursday when he plays in Baltimore... he gave me some tips on my budding singing career. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I was ecstatic!
Talking about laughing, too, I went into Quizno's sub at lunch today and his song "One Day" was on the radio in there and I just started laughing to myself. The woman behind me gave me a strange look, and I pointed up towards the ceiling and said, "I saw him on Saturday." She started looking up at the ceiling and was trying to figure out what the h#ll I was talking about!! hahah! So I explained to her that it was Chris Isaak and that she probably didn't know who he was (she looked to be about 60) and she said, "Doesn't he have a TV show?" And then we just started talking... that was pretty neat. I swear I can start a conversation with anyone. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
That's my funny story! Hope your neck & back are feeling better!

Hi Lauren,
Wow, Chris Isaak! That would have been a thrill. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif That is great that you had a nice conversation with that lady, even if she didn't know Chris Isaak. It is always nice to chat to people you don't know, broadens your life some.
I still feel pretty sore and achey. I had a bad day last week and was pretty upset about life and everything. I started crying on my way home from work. At least there was some feeling there! I did have a nice weekend with my daughter. Since my hubby and boys are visiting relatives in Sacramento, Sara and I have shared some quality time. We went to see "Pirates of the Carribbean" Saturday. It was a fun movie, and I just love Johnny Depp! Even as a scruffy pirate, he still looks good!
I am still so very tired and I wish I could just go home and take a nap! It has been 4 weeks on the addition of synthyroid to my thyrolar, still don't feel well. Hope it kicks in soon! Have a great evening!
