View Full Version : Breakthrough Bleeding

I've been on Yasmin for almost two years now with little to no side effects. Several months ago, I experienced mid-cycle bleeding for a few packs. I did not miss a pill or take one late. It went away, and I assumed the problem had resolved itself.

Unfortunately, the mid-cycle bleeding is back this month, accompanied by some cramping. Does this sound like typical breakthrough bleeding? Or could it be indicative of another gyn. issue? When the bleeding does occur, it's at the exact same time of each pack.

I'm inclined to think it's BTB. I have my annual coming up in six weeks or so, so perhaps I need to consider a pill change then. It's just odd to me that this would come out of nowhere a year and a half after I started Yasmin.

Any advice/suggestions/similar experiences are welcome! :)

After years of taking Tricyclen, I started getting breakthrough bleeding like you described. It happened a few times and went away, and then came back with some cramping. I went to my doctor and she switched me to another pill with different hormone levels. She did do other tests though, to make sure she didn't feel any cysts or irregularities.
