My wife has had a chronic soreness behind her left calf on and off for over a year... last August her general dr sent her for an ultrasound that was negative for any kind of blood clots... it was just an untrasound, no dye or anything... it has gone away and come back since then a few times and my wife is now concerned again... anyone have this kind of experience? If it were a blood clot would it be more acute and get worse until treated? Or could it be long term on and off like this? What kind of specialist should she see about this? An orthopaedic?

Any input would be greatly appreciated...
