I took Yasmin for 2 years and now I have been taking TriNessa (generic for OrthoTriCyclen) for about 7 months... since on birth control I have had frequent passing out spells.. I get dizzy, then starting seeing spots, eventually all goes black and my eyes roll back in my head and I pass out. Sometimes after this I throw up A LOT..
This usually happens twice a month, somtimes three times a month. It always happens while or shortly after taking a shower or recently after sitting in the hot tub..
I am going to the doctor tomorrow.. but I am just wondering if anyone knows what the doctor will do? I know it may be my blood pressure.. and I also have hypoglycemia. I love my birth control and it is necessary for regulating my periods and for sex.
Any input will be great!! Thanks!!

There is a chance that this isn't related to the birth control at all. Both low blood pressure and hypoglycemia cause these sort of sensations.
As far as what the doctor will do, it depends what sort of doctor you're seeing.

This definetely has nothing to do with your birth control pills. You oviously have problems with your health. Only a doctor can diagnose it. Being a major in Nursing; he will probably have you take a blood test first. When you find out what the problem is, try taking better care of yourself & make sure you follow the doctor's orders.
GOOD LUCK and i hope it ain't fatal!

This happened to me when I was on birth control pills, minus the actual passing out part. I would get so sick to my stomach and dizzy and I also was seeing spots. It was happening to me about the time I was to get my period, and my doctor told me it had something to do with the estrogen in the pill and because of that said I can no longer take any type of birth control that contains it.
