I was just wondering if anyone else is taking GLUCOPHAGE SR as I have just been put on these, 2x500mg at t-time for the first week then 3 for the second and 4 for the third week I use to be on normal metformin 500mg 3x a day, well its now been 6 days but I notice I have been feeling a bit nervy and I don't know if this is the tablets or just me as I do suffer from depression and worry about my health,

does anyone get side effects from these tablets ???

I took Glucophage SR for 2 months and did not have any side effects. Might mention that if someone is going to have side effects it is usually me. However, I was taking 500 mg. at night only.

Glucophage SR is a time release and is suggested to start out with 500 mg. once per day and then increase to 2 per day after 10-15 days, then increase again 10-15 days if needed to a max of 4 pills per day. Gradually increasing will help the med to be more tolerable.

Maybe you are increasing the dosage too fast for your body. This may not be the case since you had been on the regular Glocophage before this 3 times a day.

Check with your doctor.

thanks kindly for your reply, at the moment I only take two for the first week then upto 3 next and 4 the week after

at the moment its not so bad so may be its just my depression
