I was wondering, what do many of you do to outlet your angst/feelings?

I enjoy alternative music. I also enjoy writing poetry to release my feelings.

Just wondering :)

Now, I use imagery to do whatever I want to whoever I want, and it doesn't hurt anyone, and releases some of the negative or angry thoughts. If I need to do something physical, I'll go out in the country with a few dozen eggs (they're cheap) and find an empty lot with a 'for sale' sign on it, and throw the eggs- the crows clean them up, and the 'crunch' sound makes me feel better.....haven't had to do that in a long time, but it helped when I did !!

Hey Kat

I personally use my singing and dancing to keep me sane when things get a bit tough. I love rehearsing and being on stage because it, amongst other things, means that for a couple of hours I can slip into a different character and have a break from being Eilidh. It gives me a break from whatever's bothering me. It is just for a couple of hours, but it still makes me feel better anyway.

My friend has always been highly-strung, just naturally easily agitated. However last year he discovered a miracle non-pharmaceutical drug which calmed him down - kick-boxing. He uses that to expel angry feelings and is so much more easy-going and happy now. This also worked for one of the children I work with (age 10). When I met him all he talked about was hitting and fighting, and was often pushing the other kids about. The kids went off on a school break and when he came back he seemed much more relaxed. He told me his parents had bought him a punch-bag over the holidays and he says it helps make him feel less angry. May not work for everybody but it certainly worked wonders for those two!

Good luck!
x
