is it dangerous to eat spoiled avocados? i ate an avocado today that was spotted brown but it tasted delicious but i think i psychologically felt sick after because i felt it was spoiled? just a random question! thanks guys!

How old do you think it was? Avocados will start to turn like apples if cut in half and stored. I've eaten them before that way and it didn't bother me. Putting some lemon juice on them once they're cut open keeps that from happening.

If it tasted fine, then it probably wasn't spoiled.

A ripe avocado has lots of black on the skin and even on the flesh UNDER the skin. That's when they are delicious.
A SPOILED avocado has mush for flesh and the smell of old linoleum from the rancid oils.

I can't eat an avocado until it is fully ripe, a hard, bright green one tastes to me like a raw potato...yechhh!
