Hi I have been taking seasonale for a couple weeks and have gotton a yeast infection. I actually had this problem before while on seasonale but went off and got pregnant. Has anyone else had chronic yeast infections or issues like that on it?
Also my friend started seasonale the week before me after a 9 years on the shot. She says her nipples have been hard the whole time. Anyone?

Most studies show that there is no relationship between yeast infections and birth control, but many women claim otherwise.

First of all, are you sexually active? If so, your partner may need to be treated to avoid repeat contamination. You don't want to be passing the yeast infection back and forth.

Also, make sure that you're taking steps to avoid future yeast infections.
Here are some things you can do to help prevent another yeast infection:

Don't wear tight-fitting clothes
Wear cotton underwear
Don't wear pantyhose or leotards every day
Wipe from front to back after using the toilet to prevent the spread of bacteria
Change out of wet swimsuits or other damp clothes as soon as you can.
Don't douche or use feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant sanitary pads or tampons, or bubble bath, and avoid using colored or perfumed toilet paper.

I am very careful. I use only the summers eve sensitive wash or water. My husband and I have used condoms the whole time since the birth of my daughter. After the birth of my son I was on the mini-pill and had no problems until I switched to the seasonale. Is it stronger than other pills? I have no other side effects and like it otherwise.

Seasonale isn't stronger or weaker than the "mini pill," but it's completely different. You may be sensitive to the type of hormones in Seasonale, or just to the estrogen hormone in it.

If you're not having any other problems with Seasonale, I suggest waiting it out to see if you get another yeast infection. The infection could just be a coincidence, and a one-time thing. However, if it seems that the yeast infection is caused by Seasonale, then of course you may need to consider a different brand of birth control. There are dozens of different brands of pills; sometimes it takes a few tries to find the one that;s best for you.
