View Full Version : Seizure / High Blood Pressure Connection?
|
IJUSTWANNANO 03-26-2006, 11:54 AM xxxxxxxxxx Sponsor neurowreck 03-26-2006, 01:55 PM My blood pressure goes up right before a seizure. I've also got an autonomic disorder, that makes my BP go from nothing to sky high for no good reason- so I've got to rely on other clues to know which is going on. But, yes, my BP does go up before and during (I'm told) during seizures, then back down afterwards. IJUSTWANNANO 03-26-2006, 02:54 PM xxxxxxxxxx neurowreck 03-26-2006, 04:58 PM I take Inderal for an autonomic disorder that has my BP and pulse all over the place (BP actually documented at 44/16 up to 198/120; pulse 40s-140s), so it's hard to tell what causes what. BUT, my BP is always up just before and after seizures, and when home health was coming out she said that my vital signs were like clockwork when I'd have seizures, and my heart rate did go up. The Inderal hasn't messed up my seizure meds, and, I can take a prn dose if I feel either the aura feeling or pre-autonomic funk, to try and minimize what's going on. Sometimes it helps, other times, well, it can't hurt anything !! |
