my gyno told me that i really don't need to have my period right now if i don't want to have it. she also said that there is a less of a chance to get pregnant if you are taking the pill continously because you won't be ovulation. however, i tried this for three months and experienced some annoying break through bleeding so i decided to just go back to the way i was doing it before where i get my period every month. but i really want to skip my periods if its not essential to have them right now. what can i do so that i don't have break through bleeding? thanks!

There isn't anything that you can do to stop break-through bleeding other than switch to another brand of birth control. If you spot while trying to skip periods, it's likely that you'll continue to spot in the future.
