marky,

There is no conceivable reason that sea salt would behave any differently from regular salt with regards to blood pressure.

I always understood that sea salt contains just as much sodium as regular table salt, so after reading your question, I did a search and there are articles that claim sea salt will lower blood pressure - because unlike regular table salt, sea salt contains magnesium and potassium, both of which can lower blood pressure.

Of course these were sites that are trying to sell you something  .

I wouldn't think that the amount of magnesium and potassium would be enough to make a difference for the amount of salt you'd use.

I switched to sea salt and tested my system by putting sea salt on everything I ate. My BP went up more than 5 points. I now just use sea salt on mainly tator tots or french fries. I do know that sea salt taste alot better than regular salt. Magnesium and potasium suplements will lower your BP but not in sea salt........................:-)

There are FAR better ways to supplement magnesium and potassium than by getting teeny amounts of them with 50 times as much sodium chloride (sea salt is 98% salt!)
