A diagnosis of cirrhosis is not enough for qualification for a liver transplant. Cirrhosis and end stage liver disease are not the same thing. See the web* log on the site below my name under Resources for end stage liver disease.
One half of all liver transplants are due to hepatitis C. Your fiance needs to have a specialist familiar with hepC and, if necessary, a referral to a hepatologist for an evaluation for transplant.
Sometimes the new liver is affected by hepC. That is to be expected. However, there are many who have added years, even decades to their lives by receiving a donated liver.
I hope this helps,
thanbey

Thanks so much thanbey. He told me they would not do a transplant because of the Hepititis C, but i don't know much of the details he won't talk about it much i think he is in denial about the whole thing. I feel so bad that i can't help him but he won't talk to me about it.
Thanks Pamela
