I don't have terrible clicking when opening and closing my jaw but I have a rubbing/grating sound that is right next to my ear-almost in my ear when I do that.

One thing I noticed about a week ago is that if I apply just a tiny bit of pressure behind my ear with my index finger, coupled with opening my jaw, I have a terrible clicking along with these awful noises. I demonstrated for my mother and she was like: "Please stop!". Has anyone else noticed this when they put some pressure behind their ear on the "bad side" of their face/head? It does not happen at all on the other side, just the side with my issues.

Yes I get this as well and only on my bad side(left). My family also said "stop that" when I demostrated it to them. Also I only have to press with my finger on the bad side and I hear noises without even opening my jaw.

yes when i put my finger on my skull right behind my ear i often hear a god awful crunching noise, or it can happen when i turn my neck a certain way too. Like Rawspice I don't even have to open to get it.
