My neice came to me last night concerned for one of her friends who is snorting coke along with several other drugs that she comes in contact with. She is on a rapid downward spiral and no one knows what to do. When my neice confronted her the friend cursed her and told her that she was not her mother. My neice often comes to me for advice but this is way out of my league so I am asking for help because my neice does not want to turn her back on her friend and I can't turn my back on my neice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to what we can do to help this girl.

Oh and she is 23, on her own and her parents are and have been out of the picture since she was a kid so that avenue is not an option.

THANKS!!!

alls your neice can do is point her friend in the right direction..seek help/knowledge/education about drugs and recovery from substance abuse...the next line of coke could be the last....who knows what it could be?....just that once or one more time can be the fatal time....hearts beat so fast they stop..ect...we dont realize at the beginning of our uasage what the consequences are going to be....health,jail,ect....its all negetaive stuff....lose our friends....employment...commit crimes to support our habit....maybe her friend just doesnt understand one of or all of the consequences....its enough to justify our using drugs,though.......usually it happens not because the drug is recreational or an escape...sometimes its a deeper problem mentally, that makes us make the stupid decisions......chef
