I recently had a nerve conduction test and the neurologist said the ulnar nerve at my elbow is quite compressed. Neuro said it will likely need to be fixed, move the nerve over in the elbow? Hand surgeon referred me for the test, see him next week. This has been ongoing for 6 months. I have been going for physio, wearing a splint at night, modifications such as not leaning on elbow etc. If I need surgery I will go for it. I was wondering what happens to the nerve if someone decided not to have the surgery? Will the nerve become so compressed that it dies? Beyond repair? What usually compresses a nerve? Scar tissue? I have never broken my elbow but had numerous strains, sprains, bruising to this area, problems started after these injuries.
