hello everyone i know i suffer from anxiety as well as depression, im not on any meds at the moment. what i cant understand is if say i have days off work i feel worse, especially weekends, vacations ect...is it because my mind is occupied? i get very tired and weak feeling and it seems like my mind switches into a worry state. i did great for a month or so untill i had a stressful upset and now im back to feeling physically sick, headaches, fatigue, dizzy feelings, the mental bla's ect...its almost like being teased with feeling good. can anxiety cause this?

I'm so sorry for the way you feel. I suffer from anxiety and depression, also. I think what you're experiencing sounds like anxiety. It can do so many bad things to us.

When I have time on my hands, I tend to start worrying, too. Even if I'm tying to relax. I'm on lexapro and xanax and they help a lot. You're doing well if you don't require meds at this time. I'm looking forward to that day.

If things don't get better, maybe your Dr. can give you something mild for anxiety. When you get back in your comfort zone, you could taper off.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

hi hyper,

Mmm, yeah, klonopin could be a problem with driving. That and it can be habit forming. Buspar is not, apparently. Can I ask what happened when you took the various antidepressants?

As for the anxiety increasing when you have time on your hands...it's also when you have more time to be aware of what you may be thinking and feeling. If you are busy, it's easier to brush any discomfort away and focus on the task at hand.

Here's a list of things that can help with anxiety/depression, that don't involve meds:

--Therapy
--Exercise--even 10 minutes helps
--the human connection with family, friends, even here with people who understand
--taking a little break every day
--Omega-3 supplements (affects brain chemistry) or fish oil.
--Light therapy (30 min /day a.m. sunlight gives vitamin D and improves mood)
--B6, B12,(Solaray brand has a time release B complex)
--folic acid
--calcium & magnesium combination

These have worked some for me, more with mild depression and anxiety, altho they don't interfere with my Zoloft either.
