hello, i would like some insite on a positive ana screening.i had a cdc and some other blood test done, the only thing that was abnormal was a positive ana. tha reason i was tested was because of fatigue, headaches, just feel generally bad. i do suffer from anxiety w/some depression. the doctor suspected lupus? i dont have rashes, or any joint pain ect... he is making me a referral to a reumatoligist?? any insite would be helpful. thanks

A positive ANA could be many different things - do you know what your number was?

As I understand it pretty much everyone that has Lupus is positive for ANA, however a positive ANA without other test results cannot be used to positively diagnose Lupus. You'll pretty much have to wait until the RA sees you and runs other tests.

My daughter has had a positive ANA for the past 5 years. The levels can suggest many things. Arthritis-lupus-MS-infection. Did they do a SED rate? They will want to monitor your blood and do eye screenings every 6 months probably. Normal is below 40. My daughters is over 2000.
