Has anyone used Provigil as a second-line med in conjunction with anti-depressants? My doctor prescribed it for my extreme fatigue, which probably is due to the anti-dep. I have read good things about it--hope someone else has tried it.
Thanks!

Calgarty, are you still taking Provigil? How is it working? I have had extreme depression-associated fatigue for more than 40 years. Today I took my first Provigil so I can't report on it yet, but I will. I have high hopes. I don't really feel that depressed anymore - just very tired and sleepy all the time. It's so frustrating and I start to feel like a vegetable after a while and that depresses me. I have a good life now, no serious problems (except this sleepy/fatigue/wiped out feeling). Every once in a while I have a few days where my energy level is up, my head is clear and I feel great. I do all the things I've been putting off and feel good about everything. But it never lasts. No one has been able to figure out why. I can't tolerate most anti-depressants and even when I stick it out for a while the results are almost nil. I have been battling this most of my life and it's been a real handicap.

Hi folks,
My husband suffers from depression--takes Lexapro--and was having major problems staying awake during the day. The doc prescribed Provigil, which is actually a drug indicated for narcolepsy, and he is doing so much better. I wake him up before I go to work and give him his pills. He has much more energy, is less depressed, and is able to concentrate.
One success story!
