one more thing i promise, then i stop posting...

so i have hashimoto's hypo, and also VN, so i was thinking since thyroid controls fluid and all that through out the body, couldn't this affect the healing process of the inner ear? any thoughts, experience with this?

thanks
scott

Hi Scott,

I have hashimoto's too. I believe it does affect the inner ear but my Drs. all say no. I just think it's weird that I got this the same time as the ear problems.

yeah, or possibly i would think it hampers the recovery from an inner ear problem, wouldnt you say?

Yes I think so too. Have you asked your Dr. about it? Also, are your thyroid levels normal now?

Thanks,
Jill

I find this quite interesting as I have the same thyroid problem and my ears bother me a lot, but they can never find anything wrong with my ears but I constantly feel like I have an ear infection, first in one and then the other almost constantly. Any information I would appreciate as I don't think it is in our head but know how we feel. :)

well i just came from my eye doctor, whos a pretty smart all around guy, and he was telling me how thyroid affects ur entire body's fluid control, and thats why my eyes are worse now, cause the antibodies are causin havok all over my body, so he said when i asked him about the ears, that yes it would affect inner ear fluid as well.. so im in the process of switching a endo and i'll ask again, but i find it coincidental.

if anybody gets info on this post it for sure.

thanks
scott
