Tarceva is the only thing coming to mind, which is a cell growth inhibitor. And, no, I can't imagine a doctor prescribing a chemo pill for anything other than cancer - I would imagine it's illegal. manicmum 04-12-2006, 06:53 AM Hi, thanks for the reply. My mother in law has been found with a shadow on her lung. She has also had severve back pain for quite a few weeks as well. She has to have a month of antibiotics and then a month of chemotherapy tablets (sorry dont know the name). The doctor has mentioned something also about her bone marrow (MIL thinks, he said that shes producing too much, but not sure). She is 70 and a bit forgetful, and she was seen on her own without telling anyone she was going. She has told all the family that the chemo tablets are for her arthritis, but i cant imagine them being given for something like that, when shes had arthritis all her adult life. Anyone got any thoughts? Lorrie x wiredqs 04-12-2006, 08:50 PM Methotrexate, which used to be used as chemo years ago is often prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis. |
