My husband has stage 111a non small cell , he was on clinical study ( 8 weeks Chemo every monday Taxal/carboplatin and 8 week radiation monday to friday.Last treatment was jan 26th. He is getting his first Scan this Friday and he is just feeling super good. The clinical nurse phoned him today and want him to go on another clinical study, she said they do this on small cell cancer and it works great. They want him to have 15 shots of radiation to the brain for preventive measures. Has anyone with small cell had this done and how did it work for you? any info would help us.
Thanks

Hello, I had chemo and radiation for SCLC and then the preventative brain radiation, 18 low doses, after I had a 'clean' scan. I have had a second clean scan since completing all the treatments. I feel I repeat myself so much on the boards and the easiest way to read all my complaints is to click on tuckygal where I have posted anywhere and you can get everyting I have written about my treatments, side effects, etc. It is so wonderful to hear of someone else who is doing well after battling cancer. I pray your husband continues to do well. Hugs and prayers from Ky. Pat

Thanks Pat. Your threads helped us alot, my husband is going to take the clinical study radiation so we are hoping that the side effect are not too bad. He had no problems with his first Chemo and Radiation so maybe it will be good this time around too.We are so happy that you are doing good. Stay strong and you are in our prayers. Maggi
