Hi David I wanted to thank you for taking the time to answer my question, your the only one who did, but i thank god that he touched your heart to do so. I am so very sorry to hear of all that you have gone thru, but I see that God has carried you thru it all, praise him. Well, my doctor thinks I just have a pinched nerve in my hand, its not as bad as it was, the feeling is coming back. If you need someone to talk to hon, I am a good listener. I will be including you in my prayers each and everyday.

god bless you and yours

Gale..... was wondering if you slept on them and cut off the circulation as i have done that myself many times....If it persists then you may want to visit a neurologist for some testing (EMG and NCV) just to be safe about it. Take care .......

Hi All
I'm new here! I have neuropathy (diabetic) and also experience restless leg syndrome with it lately as well. The neuropathy is a burning/freezing stinging sensation mainly in my feet. The RLS is mostly at night and is a feeling of needing to shake my legs...it's hard to describe. Alot of the time when I sleep I wake shaking my legs uncontrollably but when awake they feel very uncomfortable and interfere often with sleep.

I take 150mg of lyrica twice a day and it helps. Also I take cymbalta for nerve pain (maxed at 120mg daily for the last 3 years). For pain I go to pain management and am lucky enough to see a doc who doesn't believe in suffering...I take 4-6 norco (10/325 hydrocodone) a day for pain. This gives me quality of life. I work full time and have a 5yr old and a teenage daughter to take care of. It literally gives me my life back.

Also though, I was recently tested for rheumatoid arthritis for the worst muscle aches you can imagine. Feels like the flu! It's not. It's a deep deep ache mainly in my legs, knees, wrists and fingers. I tested negative for RA but extremely high Rheumatoid factor so I'm in testing mode right now while they try to figure it all out. I can't help feeling the neurological problems and the arthritis are related somehow!

Anyways, my best to you!
Love, Julie

Did this happen just once? Last week.
Numbness and burning pain are symtoms of neuropathy.

My neuropathy moved into in my hands two years ago. I find myself sleeping with my hands turned in which is unconfortable and seems to restrict blood flow. There are gloves that keep your wrists straight, look for corporal tunnel syndrome to find these. I have seen 'things' that you stick to the back of your hands at night to keep the wrists straight.

If you have no other symptoms I would be tested for corporal tunnel symdrome.

jujubeee.... If type-1 diabete's then i can't comment but if type-2 then strict adhearence to diet is a must with neuropathy.I know what your saying about night pain as that use to bother me so bad i could'nt stand it but staying off all junk carbs slowly turned mine around and i do mean slowly but it can be done. Good luck........

I have what I think is diabetic neuropathy. If my sugar count is in the normal range, my forehead, face, lips, sometimes fingers all suffer with what I call the " BEES " I do not have a problem when my sugar is 100 or below, which I know is supposed to be good, but I had an incident where my blood sugar went down...down...down...I woke up in the emergency room with sugar count of 20. Had to stay for 2 days. I am afraid to let it get that low as when it started dropping we did everything we could to get it back up and nothing worked. I don't have any trouble when it is above a count of 140 or more.
Is this neuropathy?
I am going to get an appointment with a nero Dr. as soon as I can find one.
HELP !!!

Teddyted........Do you take insulin?? If not could possibly be a benign pancreatic tumor thats overproducing insulin which is removing glucose from the blood at very low levels . Maybe an allergic reaction to something you ate or were exposed to..Way over my league here as i recommend seeing a Endo or Neuro whomever your primary care recommends..What is neuropathy?? Well its usually burning sensations/pins and needles and weakness in feet and hands at first. Many things can cause this but if its from diabete's its do to yrs of high blood sugar levels which are toxic to neurons. Best Wishes to you !!
