I just found out I was hypoglycemic and if I don't eliminate sugar from my diet I will become diabetic. I am a little scared and feeling determined to do this right. Any comments....suggestions or support is appreciated!

You have good cause to to take it seriously ,the complications of diabetes are not to be taken lightly. You have the opportunity and power at this stage to prevent it.
There are many articles out there that will help you learn how to control your carbs .You can research diabetic diets and get an idea of what to eat and how to balance your diet . Also research the glycemic food index. That will show you what foods are high in sugar .The results might suprise you.
Most often the culprits in a bad diet are fatty foods and too much simple carbohydrates. These carbohydrates often come from but not limited to bread ,potato . rice and pasta . One of the worst offenders is carbonated beverages ,Did you know that a can of cola has the equivalent of about 10 teaspoons of sugar?? Complex carbohydrates on the other hand are much slower processing and dont shock the blood stream with overdoses of sugar. They tend to be more nutritious and higher in fiber. You can learn how to keep your diet balanced by seeking diabetes education online and also in your community .Many hospitals and medical centres offer classes.

Keep posting and let us know how your doing take care
