Just thought i would update the situation my cousin seemed to be getting better until friday his heart rate soared again to 200 beats per minuet so he was taken into intesive care and put on 100% oxygen he is toyally sedated but being on the oxygen is slowing his heart rate to almost normal they say he will start to reduce the oxygen bit by bit in a couple of days.

I know a lot of ppl have read this post but no one has answered but i dont mind its just good to know that ppl are listening to whats going on it helps me a lot just to type whats going on.

Thanx

There are a lot of people listening ...... I read your post yesterday but didn't think there was anything I could say to help you with your situation. But I can tell you I have been thinking about what you must be going through. Can you tell us how old your cousin is and how long the symptoms have been present? And is there a history of respiratory problems previously? Perhaps there is another medical issue in your cousins history that might be causing this current problem. If you can share some more details, I think there are many others here that would try to offer support and advice. You and your cousin will be in my prayers.

Hi Grand rapids my cousin is 30 years old he has no previous history of respiratory problems and has always been healthy there is no family history of respiratory problems. His mum and dad were just told he had pneumonia and although his lungs are starting to clear his heart rate is still right up there he is now on 70% oxygen they reduced it to 60 but had to put it back up during the night, the doctors don't even seem to know why this keeps happening he has been tested for everything but they have found nothing.

Thanks for listening.

Hi, found out my cousin has pneumonia but also has an infection in his heart muscle that why his blood oxygen keeps going down he is now on 70% oxygen and doctors are happy with his progress but said it will be a long time before he will be back to normal. He is still heavily sedated and they have also given him a paralysing injection to stop any movement so he gets complete rest.

Thanks for the update. I hope your cousin recovers quickly now that the doctors know what the problem is. Sometimes the biggest problem for doctors is finding out what's wrong. They can't start effective treatment until they jump that hurdle.

Good luck to you and God bless
