Has anyone used the plugs for dry eye? If so, do they hurt to be put in and how much do they cost? I don't know much about it but I've heard they basically plug your eye up so the moisture doesn't run out. I'm thinking I might need to look into this as everytime I put drops in my eyes I can immediately taste them in the back of my throat (the steriods drops taste nasty!). I feel like they are not in my eyes long enought to do any good. Can anyone else taste the drops almost immediately after putting them in?

Hi, i'm not sure how long ago i got lasik- probably over a year now- i have really dry eyes(always have, even before lasik) and put the plugs in almost right after my lasik procedure and it made a world of difference. they were tiny little blue things that they put in. didn't hurt at all.felt weird at first but one of them wasn't put in properly. so if you do get them and feel them in there go back cause they might have not pushed them all the way in or at an angle. now i don't even notice them. i eat lots of oily fish and take fish oil also when i don't. i do still put in my eye drops(mainly in the morning) but i think its just habbit sometimes:) and at first it helped me to wear a sleeping eye mask to keep my eyes completely shut. Hope this helps you.

oh i think they cost me under 50 bucks..got the temporary ones that disolve after a couple months then got the permanent ones put in.

=D
