OK so when I was in 9th grade I was diagnosed with severe depression. I was a moody self contained 14 year old who blamed my parents for everything. So I went on prozac, or so they believed. I never took my medication and about half way through the year I am through with my "acting up" stage. So my parents believed that it worked wonders and I continued on my "10 mgs" of prozac (which I still had no ever taken). My senior year in highschool I started to get tired all the time. Once again I was diagnosed with depression. But this time they also decided to do blood work and actually check my t3 & 4 (something) levels. And they turned out to be low. Apparently many Hypothyroidism symptoms are like depression. So now I have been diagnosed with having "thyroid" problems. I felt angry at everyone who passed me off as another "depression" case. Had I been informed I would have known things like the reason I stopped growing at the age of 13, why all of a sudden my vision went from 20/10 to 20/200, and why I always felt cold no matter what the temp was. So for everyone who is feeling depressed for long periods of time have your blood checked specifically t3&4 levels. What you have may not be a mental disease. it may be a physical one instead.

Well I only posted this because I needed to vent alittle
