Hi I have a question. My husband was born with Hep B. He is a carrier and hasnt had any problems since we have been married (we have been together almost 9 years now.)except for some tiredness. Just recently he had a physical and it looks like he is anemic. Should he be concerned, and follow up? The Medical Assistant didnt seem too concerned and neither did the doctor. He has been getting tired more and I just get concerned. My question is this...is anemia common with Hep B?

Ask the doctor about whether B-12 shots might be appropriate for your husband.

You can also get sublingual B-12 from the regular stores or vitamin shops. A B-50 once per day may help, too.

Always check with the doctor.

Thanbey, thank you very much. I will definately ask the Medical Assistant if he can start taking B-12 or B-50. He has been very healthy for all these years and he is just now feeling absolutely wiped out and tired. The labs showed he is anemic but they just didnt give it much attention. Your reply is very helpful and I will definately check into it. Thank you.
