I was taking 50mg of Atenolol but then my Doctor switched me to
Apo Hydro 25Mg, because i was experiencing a groggy fatigue feeling
on a day to day basis, so has anyone else gone through this, and
been switched, if so what differences did it make? Fatigue is not
listed as a side effect with the apo hydro, where as it was on the atenolol.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I was on a beta-blocker & switched to a diuretic. I, too, had a lot of sluggishness /w the beta blocker. I actually had a difficult time that first week off the beta-blocker w/ extra anxiety, but after a week, I started feeling SUPER again. I have lots more energy. The diuretic has NO side-effects w/ the exception of extra bath-room trips!
My BP is also doing pretty good w/ the diuretic. I hope it works for you!

pulltab,
Apo-hydro is called hydrochlorothiazide or HCTZ in the United States. It was the very first antihypertensive developed 60 years ago and is still very useful.
All you need be careful of is to keep your potassium and sodium up to prevent electrolyte imbalances.
Thus eat the daily banana and glass of orange juice (and grapefruit, melons fish) for the potassium, DON'T restrict your salt and take a magnesium supplement (like 250 mg. MgO.)
People who are salt sensitive hypertensives do very well on this med. (You might want to go to sleep with a glasss of water at your bedside...the stuff can make you very thirsty at night.)

My doctor never told me to take a magnisium supplement or to watch my potassium levels etc. So far I have taken the new med for 2 days and I seem to be more alert and have more energy, less sleepy feeling. I think I am going to like it, I checked my bp today it was 127/86... on the beta blocker it was around 120/70 average. Is that normal?

The hydrochlorothiazide has 2 mechanisms for lowering BP...the second one (arterial relaxation) takes several weeks to kick in. Give it a while longer.
It also can take several days to dump enough salt and water to get you your best numbers.
A diuretic always is easier to take than a beta-blocker.

I don't find myself going to the bathroom anymore. Thats a good thing. I always drank alot of water on the Atenolol anyways, and the diuretic doesn't make me drink anymore water than I already was.
I hate being on meds. The thought that I'll be on these forever greatly disturbs me.
