View Full Version : Medication Question

I have a question that I have not seen brought-up before. At what point does your doctor determine when you need to be prescribed medication to aid in controlling your blood glucose? Is it by your A1C number or other factors. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes 2 1/2 years ago. My last A1C was 5.8 and I'm due to have one in June. I'm so afraid that the upcoming test will be over 6 since my A1C has gone up each time I've had the test done despite losing weight, exercising and watching what I eat. My biggest downfall is at night as I take depression meds which makes me hungry and I tend to overeat. I would appreciate an answer regarding medication and also does anyone have any safe, filling snacks that I could eat at night. Thanks for your response.

With your present numbers --- you don't need to be on any diabetic medication.

I would strongly suggest that you adjust your eating habits so you never become a diabetic--- ever.

The problems with diabetes is it a not a good thing.
Eat something like a piece of fruit and nuts at night.
