I have not been definitively diagnosed with MS but I am on Avonex as the only thing keeping my neuro from saying that I do have it for sure is a second attack. Several weeks ago, I started getting this shooting and at the same time tingling pain (hard to describe) in my hand. It only happens for a split second when I'm having to really manipulate something with my fingers like buttoning up my sons sleeper. It almost feels like a nerve is getting caught. Anyone have a related pain?

My computer at work froze up so I had to unplug it. I reached down to pull the plug from the back of the PC, and when I stretched my arm to plug it back in I felt an electric shock in my hand. I dropped the plug and called for maintenance on the PC. While I was waiting for the tech to show up I decided to try stretching my arm out in front of me. Surprise! Same "shock" feeling.
I do sometimes get shooting pains, sudden numbness, aches, burning sensation...they come and go, and they move around. Seems to just be part of the deal.

Hi, I am not diagnosed yet, but i get the shooting pain when i stretch my arm out like trying to empty dishwasher or put something in a cupboard or reach down to pick up one of the kids toys. It also seems to totally zap all my energy and my legs turn to jelly. Really wierd. Good excuse not to unload the washer though so it isn't all bad!

I have had those shooting electric shock pains from my right hand down to my right foot at times. The first time about three years ago . I went to the neuro thinking I was having a relapse. He told me no but did not tell me what it was or if he could prescribe anything for me.The last time I have been there.Has anyone been taking anything for this?

Wow, I was diagnosed 5 years ago and just started getting those shotting pains from my elbow to my fingertips...I thought I had tennis elbow or carple tunnel or something. For some odd reason I never thought it was the MS.

weeble - I take neurontin, it helps with pain and numbness.
marissa - I'm sort of the opposite: been having the pains and such for YEARS but just got dx last Sept!
