as per my doctor advice, i just stopped taking Toprol after being on it for 3 months, i lost a good amount of weight, and my blood pressure is able to be low on its own now.

this is my 2nd day of being without the beta blockers, and i feel weird. i feel tired at times, and while just standing, and walking, my heart beats alot more than when resting, i sometimes feel a little light headed when getting up too fast. now is this just my body adjusting, should i be feeling like this? when putting my hand to my chest, on the heart side, my chest is very warm in the heart area. i just dont feel right, especially when walkin up stairs. i skipped the gym tonite cuz i was afraid of exerting myself.

while on the toprol my BPM was 60, now its averaging 100

does this sound normal. please help.

Thats because toprol xl should not abruptly be stopped. A patient should be told to wean from the med by reducing the dosage gradually. My mom stopped toprol xl abruptly and her bp soared to 220/107 and she ended up in the ER.

Call your dr. or go to the ER if you don't feel better soon. Tell them that you abruptly stopped toprol xl and they will assist you.

Or you can take a half pill of toprol xl and I bet you'll feel better immediately.
