Come and relax,
I've had my inner ear disorder for almost a couple of years now and I also used to play in a band.. I have a constant ringing in the ears(from loud music) that never goes away and the loud music sometimes makes my vertigo worste.. I would recommend that you wear ear plugs when you rehearse and do gigs...
Being in a band is absolutely awsome(I MISS IT), but what most people dont think about is their hearing. Please take it from me and use ear protection or otherwise you will have the same problem as myself.....
Regards
Darren............

yeah i never had the true 'spinning' vertigo, just lightheaded right from the beginning. my head feels stuffy all the time, especially my ears, and my eyes feel out of focus even though they are not. its very hard to walk by myself, and i cant drive a car (too scared i will pass out). i feel better that im not in this alone, but i hope everyone starts to feel better soon!

I did, here is my story at a glance.... both for answer your question and to ask if anyone's case resembles mine, I'm reaching the 17th month on this, with lots of up an downs, and one big doubt.

November 2004 waking up, I've had this intense vertigo bursts whe I moved my head, It was hard for me even to stand up, much like BPPV, something I didn't knew by name then.

I took some antivert(or similar), It went away for one day then started all over again, went to the doctor (ENT) she suspected BPPV, but negative Dix-Hallpike, blaming the antivert, didn't confirmed it... They sent me home to do some VRT(Cooksey), and that was it.

Mild recurrence or decomp in June, again negative Dix-Hllpike, "posible vestibular Nuronitis was the DX", mild symptoms during the year, most of it quite clean and normal 95-100% in my perception, I even endured colds and stuff without any significant setback.., not a sinlge pill since then until..

...This year at the end of January, sitll in cold and food poisoning(here I took the pill for preventing vomiting) and out of nowhere a strong enduring decomp wich got me both here(thank God), and to the neuroto...

Shaking and moving images(like oscillopsia), ocassional vertigo bursts(short ones), unsteadiness, and mild fogginess, are my current cocktail... "Official DX" after posturography, Romberg, VNG, Caloric Test, Dix Hallpike(negative again)and Audiometry was a Vestibular Dysfunction in my right ear.

My brain compensated well since last year, asuming that my initial injury was the one of Nov 04, nevertheless I donīt get why in an overall perception, this is my big doubt, I feel worse this year than the last one, I mean all this foginess and vision trouble was completely new for me, not even in my worst spinning attack I felt this way.

I'm a Migraneur, "retired" cause no real headache in years, and I also suffer from chronic allergies, sinus and cold stuff wich I believe that both of them, in their own specific way, are both affecting me somehow.

Neuroto paid more attention to the sinus/allergies, wich might be the main cause of it all(it even got my eqaar inflamated), but not so much on the migraine history, but who knows the real causes underneath it all...

So, even as I'm progressing slowly but surely, more so since I stared VRT again at the beginning of March, I just canīt get it why I feel kind of "worse" now than I did last year... Opinions anyone? Similar cases?

The bright part of it all is that even as I feel this overall thing more strange and continuous I haven't(I knock on wood here), thank God ever felt that intense first spinning of 2004.

So that's it, get well soon everyone....

Hello All,

I am a 38 year old male, and new to the group (but reading the posts for a while now and thanks for all the information here) having similar dizziness which is not like real vertigo(No Spinning), more like light headedness and weakness in the feet and hands and as if not getting much oxygen to the head. Got this feeling for the firsttime on Dec 19, 2005 and went to the ER and they found out everything was OK (except that my BP went up a bit due to the scare and it came down after sometime) and they said that it might be vertigo and gave me a Antivert and it felt better.
Again on Mar 09, 2006 I got the same feeling and went to the ER and they tested and said everything was OK and its just the vertigo. Again I was given Antivert and it felt better by next morning.

My vertigo feels more like light headedness rather than dizziness and more like I am losing control of myself. I went to the ENT in Feb'06 and the ENG and Audio tests were done and came up normal. I have constant low level Tinnitus and the tinnitus goes up when I get this light headedness. Sometimes, when I take a big meal, the Tinnitus goes up and I feel little stuffed up.

I went to the ENT again couple of weeks back because of slight right ear pain and he checked everything and said that it might be a low grade TMJ and he said that everything seems to be good. Asked me to take Motrin for the ear pain.

Also, if I take regular strength(200mg) Tylenol, sometimes I feel a little lightheaded and tinnitus increases a bit. Not sure if anyone else had the same feeling.

Glad that I have came across this site. Lets pray that we will all get better soon.

Thanks,
Paul
