tr1ckownz 04-09-2006, 03:46 AM post no longer needed may be deleted Sponsor Mar1 04-09-2006, 10:16 AM I had a septoplasty and a turbinate reduction 4 weeks ago. Very useful in taking care of my sinus problems. I don't have any more sinus pain now, so very relieved on that. I didn't have any breathing problems to begin with, so I can't answer that. My insurance company did cover it, but I had been in and out of the Dr's twice a month for 6 months for sinus problems so that probably helped. To my knowledge, a septoplasty won't change the shape of your nose. It didn't change mine, but I suppose it could potentially change yours, depending on what they have to do to fix it. That would be a question for your Dr. Septoplasty's are done through the inside of the nose, so there won't be any visible scars. They'll all be on the inside of your nose. twizliz 04-09-2006, 01:08 PM I had it done about 5 weeks ago. I went through a couple of sinus infections and having my face go numb (very rare side effects).. As for making your nose straighter, it did for me. My nose actually looks like I got a rhinoplasty (nose job) done, because it was so crooked before. My one tip: Make sure to stock up on a lot of good dvds for after :) tr1ckownz 04-09-2006, 03:44 PM post no longer needed may be deleted 2catfans 04-10-2006, 06:38 PM I had septoplasty and turbinate reduction on 2/10/06. It has helped greatly. I was stuffy on the right side for the last 31 years with numerous sinus infections every year and sleep apnea. Since surgery, I can breathe great from both sides and my hubby say I haven't had any sleep apnea and I don't snore. :) |
