It's been three weeks since I've had any dizzyness. It's a whole new world without it. Forgot what it felt like to be 100%, I hope this will be my normal condition from now on. :)

Good on you!! scotsman9 04-10-2006, 07:44 PM Nice one! More good news - I hope I'm not far behind you. S comeandrelax 04-11-2006, 05:51 PM nice!! how did long you have this? i can't wait to post a positive comment neddyflanders 04-12-2006, 02:27 PM I've had it since June of 2005 so its close to 10 months but I've had other periods that I've went to 100% only to have it hit me again. I'm hoping this time is different. Also I've been reading alot of people are taking medications. I stay away from them. Many of the drugs have dizzyness as a side effect, so if your already have a problem with dizzyness who knows what it will do. You need to get things right in your head and realize your dizzyness is from an inner ear infection and your not dying or don't have a deadly disease. I take one multiple vitamin in the morning and that is all. comeandrelax 04-13-2006, 02:07 PM what were your last symptoms to go? AbitdizzE 04-13-2006, 03:25 PM Isnt is nice to actually feel like normal again....congrats! im looking forward to the day! :) comeandrelax 04-14-2006, 02:40 PM neddy what were you diagnosed with? did you do vrt or anything? neddyflanders 04-27-2006, 04:11 PM It's been 6 weeks now, even the noises that I use to hear in my ear when laying down are almost gone. Hopefully this is all a good sign. I was diagnosed with VN, my ENG (or whatever that ear test is called) came out abnormal. I use to do those vestibular exercises but not anymore, now I just do regular exercises like elliptical and lifting weights. Also since I got BPPV twice I now do that BPPV manuever once a week just in case. I'm hopeful but you know how this is. It is great to walk around and nothing moves. Good to hear Ned! 6Blues 04-27-2006, 07:55 PM Very glad to hear. Gives hope to read about someone getting back to normal. :) neddyflanders 05-05-2006, 01:36 PM 7 Weeks and haven't been dizzy. Odd thing last night though, woke up with pain shooting through my bad ear. Found it hard to sleep. Was hearing alot of noises in ear also. Didn't know VN could cause pain, maybe BPPV was doing it. Anybody have any ideas if either can cause pain? Today I feel fine, very odd. gloria2936 05-31-2006, 05:16 PM Hi NF, Glad you're doing well in this post. Wondering if almost a month later, you're still doing pretty well? I've had severe pain to mild pain at the present time all along with my condition. I believe it is nerve damage. Although alot of research says there is no pain with VN, I believe this to be incorrect just like the 4 - 8 week recovery time that is written. Many people who have nerve damage (not just in the ears) have pain and at times severe pain. There are even drugs out there that help this nerve pain. So I believe you can have pain with VN. Hope you're still doing well. - Gloria  Tiff22 05-31-2006, 05:20 PM Great to hear, i love reading a positive post!! suzyisdizzy 06-02-2006, 12:18 PM Congratulations! It is very comforting to see a recovery post! I hope it staying going well for you! temp_0_0 08-15-2006, 06:10 PM Hi, I am glad to hear you have recovered - it really gives a lot of hope. I just started having this for 4 weeks now and I am really disheartened at reading all of the posts here - specially the time it takes to recover. What is the average time to recover from this - is there any medical/clinical stats on this? BTW I have not been diagnosed with anything - VT, Lab, inner ear issues etc - but my symptoms are a constant dizziness 24/7. Thanks neddyflanders 08-16-2006, 12:44 PM Hello Temp 0 0, I had it for 10 months. This is my 5th month in a row without any dizzyness at all. I do occassionally hear noises in my bad ear when I'm sleeping but no dizzyness at all. arcanamundi 08-21-2006, 01:25 AM Temp, I know what you mean. I came down with 24/7 dizziness all of a sudden, the morning of June 28. It was VERY bad for about two weeks, and has been slowly "getting better" (I think I'm getting used to it) since then. So it has been almost two months for me - seven weeks. The first few weeks I was in terror of it lasting as long as I read it could last - now that I've been through it, you'll be surprised at how life just rolls along at its usual pace. It's been depressing - I'm all out of emotional energy for just about everything, and reading this board honestly makes me cry most of the time. I don't even know why I do it. Once I got up from the computer and was thinking - if I have to be like this for the rest of my life I'll kill myself. It's so awfully important to hear from people who get better. Mostly this board seems full of people who aren't getting better, and I think it can give a skewed impression of what the general chances really are. Be aggressive about making the damn doctors give you tests. I practically had to pimp-slap my ENT into a referral for VMP and all the rest at a real Balance Center. I have vestibular neuritis, unilateral deficit on the right side, and start vestibular rehab on Tuesday. My rehab guy says that it will take 4-6 weeks. Of course, when I then told him I was going to go ahead and keep my doctoral exam date (yeah, the timing of this has been GREAT), he looked REALLY uncomfortable. Like he didn't want to discourage me but it's going to take more than 6 weeks to be improved. Honestly, until reading Neddy's post, I had come to the conclusion that NOBODY ever got ALL BETTER. It's honestly that post that might have really saved me from sinking from depression into despair. I swear, the vast majority of the posts here are enough to make Baby Jesus weep. I wish there was more light visible at the end of the tunnel, but I don't know if it's visible from this list or not. Sad and frustrated. S |
