Is this Amino Acid worth taking,I see and hear alot about it,I heard it's great for helping to build lean muscle mass and gives you energy, also heard it's great for a man's sexual health as well,I just started working out seriously again after a long period of slacking, and I was wondering would this help me boost my energy and overall gains??
Any info would be great, thanks.

L-Arginine (amino acid) ... is basically a Blood Vessel dialator in that it expands the vessels and allows more blood flow. This do to its production of Nitic Oxide..Weight lifters take it do to it helps pump up the muscles with increased Blood flow. Whether it does these or is just placebo effect i don't know as iv'e never taken it. One last thing is it shouldn't be taken by people with LOW Blood pressure problems as it could drop the pressure too low. As for energy i don't think it offers much on that, better to have a high energy diet ......later !

you're pobably thinking of the anecdotal evidence which supports the use of Arginine (often combined with L-Ornithine) as a growth hormone releaser (burns fat for energy, speeds recovery time, tones/ builds/ repairs muscle). i've researched it in the past and couldn't find much hard scientific eveidnece to support this anecdotal eveidence, co haven't taken it myself. but i do get quite a few people in the health food store i work at buying it and they swear it has accelrated their progress.
look into L-glutamine powder instead. has an anti-catabolic action, increases growth hormone levels by 400% from just 2 grams a day. seems to be more scientific backing for this one. look into it more. be careful to look at what the site is that recommends the stuff though. look for unbiased reviews from sites that don't sell the product and therefore don't have an agenda.
