I am wanting to stop my sz meds or cut it down to 100 mg Lamictal . I am currently on 200mg Lamictal a day. How long does the lamictal stay in ur blood stream. What usually happens if u stop it at one time. Or how should it be weaned off of.

I'd check with the doc on that one....some people have no trouble weaning off, and some have bad trouble with more seizures.....

Any anti epileptic should be tapered off as your Dr orders . Only exception from the Dr is if the patient is having major problems the Dr will take other actions (adding in another med and removing the problamatic med quicker then usual).
Are you having the Lamictal rash on the skin? If you are having ANY major problems let your Doc know and see if they will work with you.
Lamictal has a half-life of 30-40 hours if taken with no other drugs for epilepsy.
Reduction is too dangerous to try on your own. In MY case with Lamictal just wasn't working with my body's chemistry; even at 800mg/day. The blood levels came back implying I was not taking the pills. Removal in MY case was not problamatic, but we still went slow until we started up on a different drug to replace it.
