Hi there,

This morning I was just using a q-tip in my ears, and maybe I put the q-tip in farther than I was supposed to, I wasn't really paying attention, but after that I noticed a little hearing loss in the left ear (almost like things sounded kind of dull) and it felt like it needed to be popped but I couldn't pop it. It feels almost congested or like there's pressure but I know it is directly related to the q-tip. My hearing is a little better than this morning but not completely. I'm wondering if maybe I pushed the wax further down in there and maybe thats obstructing something? I'm a little worried but maybe someone here knows what's going on? thanks

If it's still bothering you, see an ENT. The same thing happened to me. A piece of q-tip "fluff" got pushed down the ear. I swore off using Q-tips (then). A few years later, I went back to using them and my ear was blocked. Apparently, dry skin was pushed down blocking the ear drum. It's been 2 months since, and I will NOT touch Q-tips at all !!!! Use a washcloth to clean your ears.
