Can anybody give me more info:-

My father (aged 56) has just been diagnosed with hepatitis b. he has had a liver biospy and has now been told to cut down on his diet otherwise is liver will kill him.

Is it linked to liver cancer?

Would he have had this years or is it only something the docs can answer?

My father is very selective about what he tells me and I would like to know more.

Thanks

Amanda

Untreated hepatitis over many years has a small chance to turn into liver cancer. I believe he can be monitored by doctors by periodic ultrasounds, blood tests, and other diagnostic tests to catch any dangerous changes. Good luck.
