It just occured to me - too late - that the antibiotic drops I was putting in my eyes after lasik might render my birth control pills ineffective. I know that oral antiobiotics do this but have no idea about eye drops. Anyone know?

That is a good question. I don't have an answer but, may I suggest calling your OBGYN or the doctor that did you Lasik. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say that the oral antibiotics are the ones to look out for. But, since you can taste the ocular (is that the right term) antibiotics, who knows. I just don't know how potent they are in comparison to the oral antibiotics. To be sure, I would definitely consult your OBGYN.
Take care and let us know what you find out as I am sure that you can't be the only woman with that question.
