Does anybody still have some ringing in their ear after someone uses digital hearing airs in few weeks? I still have ringing in my left side while I am wearing analog hearing aid. I will be getting digital hearing aids in few weeks. I talked to my audiologist about this ringing and shutting my sound off from my ear. My audiologist said we have to wait and see what will happen when I get this digital hearing aids. When I have this digital hearing aids on for few weeks, will this ringing in my ear will solve the problem? thanks

Hi Daffy93,
I wear digital hearing aids, and sorry to say, they have not removed the ringing from my ears. Both of my ears ring (tinnitis) due to a bad ear infection I had as a teenager.
However, audiologists may recommend wearing aids for those with ringing in the ears for 2 reasons: 1.) often ringing ears are a sign of hearing loss, so the person actually needs to wear a hearing aid and 2.) the aid will amplify sound entering your ear, which can help mask that annoying ringing.
My guess is that your ear will STILL ring after getting the digital aids, but the good news is you may LOVE those digital aids. Today's digital aids have programs to enable you to hear better in normal, noisy surroundings or even on the phone. Analog aids simply can't compare with these new aids. Good luck with the fitting!

Ok, I hope this ringing in my ears will remove when I get these digital hearing aids soon. If not, I will ask my audiologist and ear doctor for another hearing test. I talked someone from deaf and hard of hearing site about ringing in the ear. She told me that it won't be any cure to get rid of ringing in the ear. I am afraid I might have to live with it since I am losing my hearing from this hearing test few weeks ago. I was mild to moderate and now I am moderate to severe hearing loss range.
