For some time now I have been having on and off heart palpatations and also an aggravating ( swooshing ) sound in my ear that goes with the beat of my heartbeat. I was diagnosed with a murmur about a year ago and the heart doc said it was nothing to worry about, but to keep it in mind for later on in life. Anyway I had someone tell me that I may have Pulsatile Tinnitus. If anyone thinks it could be ,is there anything that can be done about it? Thanks for any info.

Some heart medication lists hearing symptoms as a possible side effect. Medication that involves a vascular disorder may affect a sensitive vein close to the ear drum and one would hear and be aware of each heartbeat. Can't rule out palpitations as the cause that may aggravate a close, sensitive vein. But a murmur would not be a direct cause.

I forgot to mention that I'm seeing a neuro doc for a pons lesion. Guess I should mention all this when I go back to see him on Apr 24th. Who knows, that could be the cause of it.
