I'm taking Effexor and it seems like I am sweating a lot. I had this same effect when I was on Celexa too. Is this a side effect? Has anyone else experienced this?

Different medications have different side effects for everyone. I was taking prozac and was sweating like crazy!! Switched over to Lexapro and it wasn't as bad. Now I just went off everything and the sweating is slowly getting better. Anyway, everyone is going to have different side effects to different drugs. Some people might get insomnia, while others sleep great. Some might have headaches or drymouth while other's dont. What makes you sweat might not do anything to someone else. You could try a different medication to see if it doesnt make you sweat. Thats what I'm thinking about doing, but right now I feel pretty good with life...med free!! its great. Take Care.

I'm on Effexor and find it makes me feel really hot most of the time. This in turn makes me sweat. Its extra annoying because I cut my arms and have to wear long sleeves most of the time so I cant strip down to a skimpy top!

Its true that drugs have different side effects on different people though. I'm even getting slightly different side effects on Effexor XR that on Effexor.

Effexor caused me to have excessive perspiration. It made me nervous too. I had to discontinue use.

I take zoloft and sweat real bad. It is a side effect.
