My husband had been taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg twice a day for 4 weeks. As the weeks go by he finds everything to irritate him to the point that he is out of control - agitation !! This is not like my husband. Will this wear off or will this get better?

Hi

I am on the same dose of wellbutrin. I had the agitation and anxiety for about the first 5 weeks. After that it went away and has not come back.

It has been a wonder drug for me.

I hope your husband has success!

I'm on the same dose as well. I immediately felt my anxiety level go up and found myself to be VERY irritable.
I believe I'm on my 6th week now and it has gone away. Tell him to hang in there....perhaps his doctor could give him an anti-anxiety prescription to help him through this?
Good luck!

The agitation could be an indicator of drug induced mania. Watch out for that if your husband starts to get verbally or physically abusive. Also feeling agitated very often is not good for your husband. The purpose of being on medication is to get better. Hopefully he will get some help without medication.
