View Full Version : Sponaneous Pneumothorax- pain 8 years later

I had 2 spontaneous pneumothoraxes in March of '97 at the age of 16 and since have had no problems except a constant discomfort/pain while sitting. In movie theaters, restaurants, even at a desk, the only way to deal with the pain is to move around often or lean back where possible. I do feel this way in my car as well, but not as much because of the way i have my seat positioned.

Does anyone else with previous penumothorax problems feel these pains. I'm assuming it is due to that because the pain is only on the side of my problem lung. My treatment at the time was basic suction until the lung re-scarred itself to my chest wall. No stapling or major surgery was done. Any advise/stories would be welcome.

Hi my names is Angela and I have had two surgies on my lungs because of blebs. Im not tall and skinny at all. Im the opposite im 4"11 and weigh about 125. I have been told because of the talc my lungs are scarred down to my chest wall and that can still pop a bleb but my lung will not collapse. This still hurt when it happens and i have too also sit in a certain position. Its the sharp stabbibg pain that takes my breathe away and hurt the most.
