Hi guys, this my first post under this heading. I hope someone can help. Today, all day I have been out of breath every time I atempt to do anything--even speak!! This has happen before but not for long periods of time only for a few minutes then it goes away. I have had a nuclear stress test and my cardiologist is sending me for a heart cath test on friday becaused it came back abnormal. I am quite aggravated with this out of breath thing today because it has been a struggle to get things done. I don't want to go to the er or anything since I am having my test done on friday besides, I can't stand going to er's they usually tell you something that your own doctor can tell you over the phone unless it is a life or death issue. Please if anyone can tell me if they have had the same problem, what this could possibly be? I have no pain and I am 37 yrs old.

There are rare reports of breathing problems (dyspnea) related to the use of hydroxyurea. Sometimes these so-called "rare" occurrences happen more often than acknowledged.

Hi. I think the best thing to do now is just to relax until the tests are done.
Sometimes people develop shallow breathing and don't take proper breathes - we need to learn to breathe properly. Anxiety too easily becomes the norm. Time out relaxing, breathing deeply, reading or doing a crossword, for example, without the tv on, is important.
More generally, I would ask whether you smoke, whether you are overweight, and whether or not you exercise. These are all important keys to your general health.
I notice a lot of people on this forum are reporting what I would call anxiety-induced stress (females especially, but I expect men too - they just don't admit it). This condition elevates your blood pressure and that can lead to more serious problems. I don't see many people here describing how they relax or meditate. People need to take time out to counter our modern lifestyles, tv, kids, driving cars and traffic, etc.
Just my views on how we live.
