Well Jenny only you will know that for certain if this working so fast however Fish Oils usually take weeks to months to do their magic. Now why is this .....well you see Fish Oils are Fatty Acids and they like any other Fatty Acid that you eat gets incorporated into your ''Trillions'' of Cell Membranes that are made of Fat. And its the fat you eat everyday that gets constantly put into them as they are being made daily. Whether its Monounsaturated (olive oil) saturated (butter) polyunsaterated (fish/flax oils) and even good ole Transfats (partially hydrogenated oils) all fats will be incorporated into your Cell Membranes but there's trillions so it takes a while.....later !!

My son's doctor recommended fish oil capsules for depression and said that it would take a couple of weeks to feel the change, however, I noticed a change within 2 days. I've always been sensitive to medication, so perhaps it is the medication, but it could also be a placebo affect. Who care though? If you feel better, good for you!

We've been using high quality EPA concentrate fish oil capsules in our family (3 members) for over 6 yrs. now, & we always find improvement of symptoms (anxiety, depression, arthritis) within about 20 min. of taking a dose.

IME lower potency fish oils may take longer to be effective. We have not found anywhere near the same amt of benefit from flax oil, and we also find that eating a lot of transfats (chips, junk) & overdoing other polyunsat veg. oils "undoes" some of our FO benefit. We do best using monosat oils (esp. olive) for salads, etc.

I do not believe it was all in your head, Jenny, although you may notice that you need to have regular doses of FO to maintain the effect.

Best wishes.
