Are standard stress tests uselss??

I am scheduled for one tomorrow. I have read that they are useless and only nuclear stess tests are valid. Should I talk to Doc about this?? If they are useless, why are they even administered???

I am 31, female. I do not get chest pains..but do get SOB and dizziness with hot flashes upon exertion. Am on BB for IST (or SVT - not sure which). Will this test shed any light on arrythmia problems - ie. IST vs SVT??

Anyone with any answer or opinions...it will be MUCH appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
