I just started the Pegetron program at the end of February. This is my first time on this site, have been reading some mail. I also give the injection on Friday eve's, as I am working during the week. Was real scared at the beginning, not knowing what to expect and how sick I would be. Within a few hours the pain and nausea would start, and at first i wasnt sure if OK to take Tylenol, but now as I have read from others, take it before going to bed and this helps get a little sleep on the first night. The weekends are write-offs for me and I am taking some Mondays off. The pain in my hips and lower back are the worst, lasting for 4-5 days and no way to rest or sleep without painkillers. And the nausea, what helps it? My scalp is a mess (scabs and itchy) and it would be great to find something that helps the scalp. All in all, I feel pretty lucky that I am able to work, and that by Tuesday or Wednesday am feeling better again. I just gave the 7th injection. Can you guys let me know if the sides get any better further into the treatment ? Thanks, Debra

Hi Debra,
my experience is, that the sides are getting better with the time.
My recommendation is:
- drink a lot (water, tea, juice etc. No alcohol(!), no coffe or Cola)
- rest a lot
- against itching try the most simple thing first - do not use soap, and/or try to minimize the washing (minimize the contact of water with your skin).

Against nausea: try to observe, if you can find some connection between what you eat, and how you feel.

Good Luck

Petr
