Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if there is any relationship between blockage and weight gain - or pulmonary artery blockage and weight gain? I have been suffering from shortness of breath since October and have been unable to exercise - but even when I eat almost nothing I cannot lose weight - I have gained 60 lbs since then.

I have had an echocardiogram and nuclear stress test....but I've had two "attacks" in the night that have all the symptoms of heart attack (had gallbaladder US) since Jan and the docs want to do a right and left heart cath and pumonary artery cath at the same time......

can anyone tell me if they got their blockages fixed if they were able to lose weight and get healthy again.....This all started about 3.5 years ago when I gained 60lbs in one year - no one could tell me why (I was 37).....I worked hard and lost 40 lbs over two years....then last fall when the shortness of breath started and I couldn't exercise (get dizzy and feel like I'm going to pass out and gasp for air) I gained 60 lbs back - 50 of it in 5 weeks time! I am seeing a cardiologist and pumonary specialist now.....

All this time I have been searching for a single answer to what has happened to my health - maybe there's not a single answer - but if there is something wrong with my heart or lungs and it could cause these massive weight gains and they could fix it, it sure would give me a lot of hope....I appreciate anyone who can share their experience with me.....
Best wishes.....
Kathy
