Really Overit

Hi,
just wondering whether anyone else has read this book by Pauline McKinnon and had any success with the meditation therapy described. I am currently undergoing cognitive behaviour therapy but it is a very slow process. The book describes results as being demonstrated soon. Just want to know whether anyone out there has actually tried this and seen if it does work.
thanks.

I actually read it and met the author, she went on to run a meditation school as a cure for agoraphobia with mixed success

meditation was being proclaimed by some as the best and only way to recover , but it didnt work for everyone and has now mostly gone out of fashion, but try it if you like, as well as the CBT

some reported continuous panic attacks when trying to meditate
an alternative is to have a daydream on some pleasant subject to distract you when very stressed or anxious

Thanks for your feedback. I have made an appt to meet with the author next week to see what she has to say. Just feel like I am grasping for any possible solution (aside from medication due to being pregnant) that will allow my life to return to normal as soon as possible. I realise there is no quick fix, but I have tried so many other things and her book suggested rapid results in less than a month. At this stage I will try anything but cost is now starting to become a huge factor.
Again thanks for the feedback.
